Beginning in 1960, John C. Nordt Company pioneered the adaption of hot extrusion to the precious metal family, and has made important improvements to the present day. The Nordt method, called FusionForged®, is a complex process that involves heating the precious metal to high temperatures and then squeezing the metal under extreme pressure, causing it to flow through a die in the form of a tube. This application of heat, pressure and plastic flow, applied simultaneously, combines to create metals of unsurpassed high quality.
